Ammo Getting Even Harder To Find

Wow, I usually order from ammunitiontogo to load up. I put in a huge order about a week ago. Before it said wait time was 5-6 days. They just increased that to 7-10 BUSINESS days. So basically a 2 week wait. I'm good for right now but in the future I will probably shop locally until the wait time goes down.

They are also running out of the good stuff. I don't see any .45 hydrashocks or the Speer +P left.

Get it while you can. It seems a whole new level of ammo panic is beginning.:confused_ma:

The 357 I was interested in dried up when I went back a week later to order. Everything was fine until someone posted their link in this forum. Since then, everything has been disappearing.

I blame the members of GIM. :15_1_70v:

My favorite supplier, Dan's Ammo, has had trouble keeping 7.62x39 in stock since the election. Now they seem to be completely out of everything except blanks (which, in my book, don't count.) They still have a good stock of .45 ACP and 9mm rounds, but .380 completely disappeared from their site this week.

Glad I bought mine when I did, but I'm wishing I'd bought more. Of both .380 and 7.62x39. Maybe I'd better get some more .45 ACP while I still can.

Who ever it was thanks. Mines been shipped.

I like some odd ball guns and they have the best price on the ammo and not bad on other ammo I wanted. UPS guy is going to be real happy with me. I bet he is nice though:-)

I once posted some info about ammo here and the stuff was gone before I got any.

Anyone see any 7.62 x 39 for a good price anywhere? I bought a couple hundreds rounds of some surplus Yugo, but that stuff is corrosive and was a huge pita to clean, it was really messy.

I just ordered some privi from palmetto state armory and some .40 s&w from ammoman.

If the ammo accountability act goes through I figured it out I have about $12k worth of ammo to surrender LOL

My local Wally World got a bunch more 9MM and .22 LR in yesterday. Picked up 3 100 value packs of WWB, 3 100 packs of Remington HP and then 6 boxes of the Federal .22 value packs.

I never see any good prices on 7.69 x 39 or .223 at Wally World though, am I missing something on those guys? Would rather get those online.

Also I have some tracer rounds coming in for my AR. Are they suppose to be pretty sweet looking at night?

The only 7.62 x 39 I've ever seen there is the Remington or Winchester. I've never seen any Russian or eastern European (read cheap) stuff.

The Academy near me had about 2 cases of Monarch (Barnaul) FMJ at 5.99 per box of 20 last weekend. That's $320 if you include sales tax. Starting to look like a bargain nowadays...

Re: Ammo Getting Even Harder To Find

This is reaching a really scary level for me. Ammunitiontogo is the ONLY place that I know of that has any 7.62x39 IN STOCK. I mean my Wal Mart does but those are Winchester rounds. My commie SKS would be VERY unhappy if I fired that stuff through it.

I guess I will have to check the place I bought my SKS from. The last time I was there I saw little white packages in zip lock bags that just said 7.62 and had either Chinese or Russian writing on the side. I want to say it was Chinese but was like 10 round bags for around $7.00. Before I thought it was outrageous but now that I know there are Chinese AP steel core rounds that are a lot more than that, I should check that out.

Wouldn't surprise me. That guy owns a little tackle store and seems like some kind of crazy patriot. He's selling some really heavy hardcore weapons there. I got some dang good deals on my SKS and Glock 21 last month.:signs1:

Re: Ammo Getting Even Harder To Find

Reload if you can
I just got 6000 primers....2000 each of small pistol,,,large pistol & small rifle
Now I'm set for a little while for my 9mm, 45acp & 223

Of course I still buy 22lr & 00 buck for the 870
Sports authority had a 20% sale the other day of all Winchester ammo.
So I grabbed another 2000 of 22LR & 100 of 00 buck
I think it may pay soon to reload the buck too. But I dont shoot that for fun anyway so a couple hundred rounds should last awhile.
The kid at the counter of sports auth thought I was kidding & I thought it was not much in reality. ;)
Funny though on their Win X 22lr they dont have bricks so you end up with a bunch of small boxes.
They have those little red carry bags you know when you shop in the store. So I took one to their firearms dept to garb that ammo.
The girl at the checkout in front laughed when she tried to pick it up to ring it put.

I tell you what though I am glad I reload because they wanted 16 bucks for 20 rounds of 223 Win....jeez

Grafs and Midway both have been out of primers and the popular powders for well over a month now. Even Powder Valley is out of the popular stuff. I know that three of our local Walmarts have been out of 22lr bulk packs as well. What else is interesting is that our local indoor range has been so busy that on the weekends people have to wait to get a lane. That has NEVER happened before. I've always been able to walk in and get a lane without waiting. Something is in the air and the people are sensing it.

Re: Ammo Getting Even Harder To Find

Wow 24 hours later and the wait time has increased!!!! Now you can expect to wait 9-12 BUSINESS days for delivery and product shortages are common. Refunds are likely due to shortage of supplies. I am livid. I ordered last week when expected wait times were 5-6 days. My order has still not gone through. I am wondering if I will even get it now.

I walked into Wally World tonight, nothing, nada, zip. It was well stocked last week and now nothing.

Drove 30 minutes out of the city to a little Mom and Pop gun store. Kid in there bought the last AK-47 they have in stock. The very last assault rifle they will probably get. He then took a great big armful of 7.62 x 39 ammo and slapped it down on the counter. Guy said, "NO, I am not selling you the ammo and the gun, looks too suspicious." Kid left the store. So I grabbed up what he put down. Walked out with the last cases of Golden Tiger ammo they have.

I am usually a pretty optimistic guy, but this is looking very grim. :banghead:

"looks too suspicious", huh? Either the customer is a valid buyer (good NICS check), or not. I realize that the dealer has a right to refuse service, but this still sounds a bit irritating.

I dont buy ammo online except for 7.5 swiss for my K31, Dealers buy those big tin cases of 7.62x39, .223 and .308 from Wolf, and Chinasports, let the ATF follow them around, i dont mind paying a 50 cent premium on a box of 20 to keep the boogiemen away.CTD had 7.62x39 around $4.50 box, my local guy had the same wolf ammo for $4.99

I've noticed that too, had to wait for a few minutes before getting a lane on weekend afternoons. So I went to my local range once at 10:05 on sunday, thought I was gonna be the first one there when they open. At least 8 ppl were already there, some of them were there for some kinda class, but i was the 4th in line to get into the range.

Cabela's has plenty of ammo in stock, but it'll cost an arm and a leg.

Bottom line, if you waited until now to buy your guns and ammo, you screwed the pooch.

Bad.

Just got back from a gun show in Fond du Lac, WI. One vender who doesn't do the shows close to me anymore had bulk boxes of 9mm ,40SW,.357 Mag,.45 ACP ect...ect. All prices were better than walter world by a few dollars per box of 250. I ended up getting 3 boxes CCI small pistol primers and one box large pistol primer. $25 per 1000.....not a bad price since theres no shipping or has mat charge. He was out of the large rifle primers.....only had the magnum left. I went during the last 2 hours of the show and was surprized he had so much left. He came prepaired! :10_1_20:

There was a surprisingly large crowd at our range the afternoon of January 20th. I think a lot of folks had the same idea I did: go hang out with like-minded people, and celebrate our 2nd Amendment rights while we still can.

From what I've heard from other AK owners, Tiger is 'better' than Wolf.
I've only shot Wolf though.

I'm just the messenger on this one. I just spoke to a dept. manager at Walmart about the ammo situation. He said that there is concern at the corporate level that congress will make ammo illegal to own (except for serialized ammo) and they don't want to get stuck with a product they can't sell.

Another fine example of what happens to free markets when govt interferes/intervenes. Wag the dog. Wallyworld should swing that big stick they are carrying instead of p^ssy footing around.

I feel like damned Gander Mountain mouthpiece these days but they are stocked to the gills on everything except for 00 Buck and #4 shot. They even have 7.62X54r which is impressive to me. Plenty of 7.62X39, .223 and .308 (the ones I see all the cryin' about on here).

I'm thinking he might have been full of BS, someone at wall mart knows that they are going to LOSE far money not having ammo in stock then they will if they get stuck with ammo after a legislation change.

Plus Wal Mart is big enough that they can get congress to write something into the deal agreeing to buy back their excess inventory LOL
